Sweet heavenly treats at Bruny Island Berry Farm, Tasmania
If you’re heading to Tasmania and decide to pop over to Bruny Island (which you should!) and have a bit of a sweet tooth, then the Berry Farm at Adventure Bay is a must! This little cafe is just set back from the white sands of Adventure Bay and is nestled among many crops growing….. potatoes! Just kidding, they grow berries, of course, ha!
You can get savoury stuff here like croissants and sandwiches. But it’s all about the berries if you’re at a berry farm! This place grows just about every berry you can imagine – blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, boysenberries, jostaberries… the list goes on! And they use these berries to make all sorts of delicious and wonderful things.
They offer scones with their own berry jams, berry muffins, berry pies, berry cakes, berry ice creams, berry flavoured teas… you get the idea. And all made with their own berries, of course. George went for the blackberry cheesecake while I had waffles (main pic) with their boysenberry ice cream, berry jus, cream and a nice pile of deliciously fresh and sweet berries. It was honestly one of the nicest things I’ve ever eaten!
Once you’ve filled up on the cafe’s treats, if you’re still hungry you can grab yourself a basket and wander around the berry bushes, fill it up, get it weighed, then take away your own little bundle of berry goodness! The shop also sells all their different types of berry tea leaves, honeys, wines and jams. It’s such a great spot, and delicious! 🙂
