The Sky Garden – Kuta, Bali

The Sky Garden is about half way down Legian and, spread across several floors, is probably the biggest club in Kuta.

It’s a great option if you want a big night and a big feed! You have to start early here if you want a cheap night, though. Between 5 and 9pm it’s 115k (£7) to get in and for those four hours it’s all you can eat and all you can drink.

And it really is all you can eat! It’s always a BBQ but also has different extras each night. We went on a Sunday so they had a roast beef traditional Sunday dinner, as well as pasta salads, burgers, steaks, fish skewers, vegetables etc etc. You really can completely stuff your face! And it’s all really good food too – proper burgers which we’ve struggled to find here.

The BBQ is up on the top floor, which is open but also has a roof so you’re covered if rains but it’s also pretty airy and cool up there. With all you can drink, you’re limited to getting two drinks each time you go to the bar and it’s from a set choice of drinks. You can have lager, specified cocktails, soft drinks, bottled water, black jack (which I think is whisky and coke in an alcopop type bottle), or vodka and mixer. So plenty of choice! If you want to maximise the free drinks you can take it in turns to keep going up and really stock up ready for post 9pm.

After 9pm it’s ‘session 2’, which costs another 150k and you get more free flow drinks until 11pm. If you’re a girl, you can get session two for free on a Sunday, and on Wednesdays you get free entry and free drinks all night! You can still get two at a time during session two so again can stock up or help out any boys you’re with. 😉

So as we went on a Sunday I had free drinks until 11! George had to pay the extra 150k for session two, but he got a voucher for a free Long Island ice tea with his wristband, which he cashed in after free flow had ended and it was officially the STRONGEST one we’ve ever had. And we’ve had many haha

The venue itself is really fun with a great atmosphere. After everyone’s been fed and got a few drinks down them the BBQ level turns from dining into a party and we were up on the tables dancing! The next floor down had a big DJ club venue too, which was pretty epic.

With stocking up during the free flow and with George’s session two entry basically paying for a Long Island, we didn’t need to pay for any extra drinks. For 380k between us, which is about £13 each, we had a massive meal and a big, very fun night out. When most places you’ll pay about 50k for a vodka mixer, you really can’t go wrong!

Just make sure you get in early for the free flow, as the drinks after 11 aren’t especially cheap, and you’ll have a great cheap night 🙂
