Johnny’s Bar & Taverna, Skiathos
This restaurant is tucked away in Kolios just off the main road and is just what you’d picture a Greek taverna to be.
With paper tableclothes, blue wicker chairs, oil lamps on the table, and traditional Greek music in the background, you really feel like you’re in Greece here.
And the food is delicious. Johnny will always recommend you try his wife Maria’s kleftiko and will tell you “it’s the best”. It comes in a foil parcel with enough slow cooked lamb, feta cheese and potatoes to feed a small army. It’s comfort food but full of flavour. Personally I always prefer it when restaurants cook and serve kleftiko in a clay dish as it keeps the cheese all melty and gooey, but Maria’s is still a real treat and I always head there for it.
If you like your booze you should also try their lemon vodka sorbet, it’ll knock your socks off!
